Since its acquisition in 2009, the Princess Royal Pool has been completely renovated with state of the art filtration systems to maintain constant air and pool temperature and water clarity plus a new pool surround. A grant has now been approved to construct a community hall and rebuild the changing rooms which will begin in 2018.

New management and highly qualified swimming instructors provide swimming lessons for individuals of all ages from three months old and to school age.

We also offer opportunities to;

  • Leisure swimming
  • Private hire including: Pool parties, Scouts, Brownies and Schools.
  • Evening sessions
  • Fun sessions for families and children
  • Adult hydrotherapy
  • Fitness training sessions.
  • Aqua Natal Classes

We have over 700 children swimming with us every week during term time. New software was introduced in December 2016 to help with the efficient administration of swimmers and classes.

Swimming is an excellent all body exercise whatever age or level of fitness and is suitable for everyone. As well as teaching children to swim, the pool is available for adults to work with instructors to develop fitness and improve swimming skills that may not have been used since their own swim lessons!
